Higgins is the founder of Bellingcat, a group of investigative journalists who have been following Wagner since 2020. In Africa, they act as mercenaries, providing security for different governments but also form companies using those security services. They protect natural resources, like diamonds, gas, gold and oil,. And they run cyber units to build influence.
