Sight maps are racically what google sees when they know what to index on your sight so you're teling, hem, here's a list of all my pages that i have, please index shopfi automatically sends that stuff to google through search consul. When you've connected that, it, it helps to make sure that any new pages that you have are automatically included in your sight map. So that's why it is important to connect it.
