The Commonness of Self-Making

Self-making is so democratized anyone with a smartphone which is about 90 percent of americans can do it and yet suddenly the quality goes down. We're all doing it in many cases as part of our expect not for joy or authentic self-expression if such a thing exists but to get more twitter followers, instagram followers and book deals. I think that this kind of affirmation of our singularity becomes instead a just a kind of like ascent to certain uh like middle class demands of self-presentation um it's not even fun anymore or Kierkegaard says.
