"For a lot of women, there's a little bit of a pressure or an orthodoxy that we are supposed to feel like longer leaves are inherently better." You have to ask yourself what you want professionally and how things are working and what you want personally, Lina adds.

Having a baby is exciting — and exhausting. Figuring out how to take parental leave, or manage someone who’s doing it, can add an extra wrinkle.
