Dr John Marshall heads up the emergency room at a busy hospital in Brooklyn, the Maimonides Medical Center. At the peak of the COVID epidemic, we had nearly 500 patients admitted with COVID and I think we maxed out at 170 or so patients on ventilators," he says. "It really did feel like a tidal wave" Dr Marshall was an Air Force doctor who served in Afghanistan.
