The Mount of Transfiguration Is a Revelation of the Glory of Christ
As we look through the old testament, there are many stories where god appears in glory to his people. We see it in the beginning of the book of ezekiel saw the heavens opened and saw visions of god. In all these cases, god is revealing his glory but no one sees the face completely. I believe what we see in part here on the mount of transfiguration is the face of god's glorious theophanic presence being revealed.
