The Fall of Fujian
In the early 1670s, there was a widespread series of uprisings. A feudatory is like a vassal state, so you submit to a stronger power but are still technically independent. Fujian had the misfortune of being under a very greedy and cruel Qing military commander. When this rebellion looked like it might succeed, he joined in.
