Nagasaki - A Good Harbor

Portuguese gun volleys and long range cannon were devastating for small ships that were not equipped with their own long range weapons. The battle of fucuta bay, as it's sometimes called, helped convince umerasumi tata of the value of a newport settlement in nagasaki. Once a year fleets of chinese smugglers would gather here to sell goods to japanese merchants who would meet them there in secret. Why use an undeveloped port for this? Among other reasons, like avoiding information about their smuggling getting leaked home.
