In the original Batman with the Burton one, that's what they retcon it so that the Joker is the thief who killed Batman's parents. "You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight? I don't know the reference" That's his catchphrase. And he says it right before he shootsBatman's parents. So it's really makes a meal out of that line.
