Is There a Common Criteria for Asylum Application?
Under the 51 convention, and everything has happened since then, each case is individually assessed against the criterion of a well founded fear of persecution. The credibility of the applicant is kind of important in the decision making process. And what's normally required is some sort of more concrete evidence. So that could include evidence of past persecution, evidence of a real and present threat to safety and security as well an assessment of the situation in the country from which they came.
