The History of Magna Carta
Within three months of it being signed, both sides just forgot about it. And they went back to the sword and the crossbow. King John even persuaded the pope to annul it and to condemn it as being shameful. But for two centuries after King John's death, Magna Carta was trotted out and revised every time a king needed to suppress a rebellion or raise money for a war.
