The Origins of the Garments of Skin
In the tradition it's seen as our biological body, our biological existence. But a very important part of what the garments of skin mean is that they're recovering, they're a protection from what is outside. And so around Adam, because Adam had fallen, because there was something lacking in Adam, there needed to be something added to Adam in order to protect him from the outside. So all of technology, cities, whatever technology is seen as an extension of this notion: This added layer upon man. That is, it doesn't come from our life, but rather is taken from the outside and added as these kind of coarse dead layers which at the same time protect us from death.
