The Chain Mail Armor

Early guns, like arcbuss were not modern day rifles. They often mis fire red. As technology improved they became more and more of a threat to cavalry. A similar arms race happens with cannons and castles. The mediaeval knight wore chain mail armor because it was lighter. It could deflect arrows as well as axes and maces if strong enough.
