What Is a Recovery Circle?

The recovery circle is a big circle with arrows going from it. The first thing that we'll do, which you'll hear in the podcast, is identify the distortions. And then after we've done that, Jill and I will select 15 or 20 additional techniques to help challenge that thought. You never know what technique is going to work; he might try five of them but still have some defect in his brain. Or if you're an EMDR therapist, you may treat everyone with exposure therapy. It's just having one tool being used isn't enough.
