When Abe first became Prime Minister in 2006, he was the youngest Prime Minister in Japanese post-war history at the age of 52. By the time he stepped down in 2020, he had become Japan's longest serving Prime Minister. The Quad, the Indo-Pacific, all of these things that are talked about today can be traced back to Abe's first non-consecutive Prime Ministerial term from September 2006 to the next year, 2007.
