The Impact of the Encyclopaedia
It's sometimes said that the enlightenment is anti visual, but i don't think that's true. I think that the enlightenment very often delights in a certain kind of visualization. You think of medical texts in which you have these very fine drawings and so the encyclopaedia tries also to do that as a contribution. It's one of the things about certain kinds of online encyclopaedias that you sometimes miss. Let's get into the enduring legacy. How does the world look differently because of this work?
