The Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office Has a Decree on Dousing

The Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office has given serious consideration to the troubles that arise from consultations made by clerics. The decree deals only with priests, not with laypeople who were dousing and they say it is based on two canons meant to keep priests out of confusing troubling situations which could perplex the faithful. Even though they're about to prohibit priests from doing certain kinds of dows and consultations, they explicitly say that they're not prohibiting priests from helping in the scientific investigation of dowsing.
