The Importance of Altruism

I always struck me as one of the principal institutional attractions to strengthen the fact that in order to become serviceable to the church and state activities, as far as a great deal of sacrifice of your own benefit and happiness and so forth. That is, you can get people's frame of mind when they become accustomed to the idea that happiness to pleasure is permissible. Once they could be certain that they were no longer pursuing self-will or selfish ends, they could act freely and forcefully. On behalf of the will, they perceive design for them by God. The Puritans somehow convinced themselves that they were not self-interested actors. Then they felt entirely with, now, see the problem here,
