The Fed Hits the Target It Has
The inflation surprise for those people who back in February of last year thought it would be transitory is that we still have inflation way above target. The problem is the target still supposed to be an average of 2%, which means it'll have to be well below 2% for that target to be met. And before long economists will be clamoring, not John, I'm sure, but others, to raise the inflation target.
