How to Grow Potatoes in Containers
If you want to grow potatoes in containers, you can do it quite simply in a sack of compost. Just make sure they're on those two drainage holes in the bottom so that they don't get waterlogged. And you can grow them outside, or on a patio, even on a doorstep. Just makesure they don't go short of water while they're growing. There aren't too many pests and diseases that attack potatoes, but the worst of the lot is potato blight. It was the thing that caused the Irish potato famine as a result of which a million people died way back in the 19th century.
