In the late 60s, he takes up a post at the Australian National University in Canberra. He's always had an interest in the Chinese economy and this sort of new position allows him some space to pursue that interest. But sadly, for him in 1970, probably a couple of years into his work at this new role as a stroke, he's only 55. And his kids are only 10 and 12. Day after his first lecture, wasn't it?
