Matthew: Why should we accept or reject comprehensive determinism? Taylor: It seems to a lot of people that if God is going to have a kind of strong, providential control over everything that happens. Matthew: If you have intuitions that moral responsibility requires that at least some of the time, we do otherwise, we could have done otherwise. Determinism rules that out.Taylor: There's not really much more to it than that.
