Introduction
Nihal Athanayaka is a radio presenter and writer for BBC 5 Live. He was born in Essex, the son of Sri Lankan parents. In 2002 he co-hosted Asian Beats with DJ Bobby Friction on Radio 1. Nihal moved to Manchester where he still lives with his wife and two children. His increasingly popular week day afternoon show on 5 Live features news and current affairs as well as in-depth interviews with celebrity and non-celebity guests.
