You play as humanity and adjectives humanity in an age called the Age of Aons. Which is basically post a massive arcana tech war where the Migo attacked Earth using the Nazadi, which are just Drow humans. The story behind them is that the Migo made them using reference points of what humans are afraid of. They were like, well, humans are clearly afraid of nerd sex fetishes. We'll send those after them.
