The Evolution of Science and the Transition Between Paradigms
Koon isn't arguing that because science doesn't seem to work according to the straightforward accumulation of knowledge that it doesn't, he's trying to examine how science actually works. What Koon does show is that even if you accept accepting this paradigm is the only way to make scientific progress, it is nonetheless highly possible and indeed likely that revolutions may come which will completely reorganize the things we currently believe we already understand. And I think these are basic tools for understanding how we know things and how that knowledge undergoes shifts. That without paradigms, the world is chaos.
