Transcutaneous Pacing Isn't the Definitive Solution to Your Patient's Transcutaneous Pacing

Transcutaneous pacing isn't going to be the definitive solution. Many of these patients are going to need something more permanent than most of us can provide. Around 10% of patients transcutaneous pacing is ineffective or intolerable so you're going to need to be planning what your next steps are if this step doesn't work. If no reversible cause has been identified then a permanent pacemaker will be the final destination for them.
