The Inca Trails in Ecuador

In Ecuador, the Inca weren't present for very long, something like 80 years before the Spanish showed up. The Yumbo effectively employed, not enslaved, but employed as trail runners to deliver messages and to some degree, I think, goods between distant places by the Inca and then the Canyari. They were ironically the Amazon of their day; they were way too high for that to be the case.
