The Gupta brothers are engulfed in claims of massive corruption involving public contracts. The looting allegedly happened in collusion with Jacob Zuma, who was South Africa's president from 2009 until he resigned in 2018. Andre DeRator said he had raised concerns about one particular high-level politician but his concerns were dismissed by the government. Branko suggests that crime and politics aren't separate in South Africa. They go hand in hand.
