Former Gov. Pat McCrory says he and his wife met when they were students at UNC Chapel Hill. They kept bumping into each other for several years before she asked him to marry her in 1998. She was a young lobbyist working for the Covenant with North Carolina's children, who had just taken your seat as speaker of the house. "I worked on every public education bill that I could," McPherson said.
