The Border Crisis Isn't at the Border, It's the Crisis

Texas national guard soldiers are demployed to protect the border and prevent drug smuggling and child trafficking. So far, four soldiers hav died by suicide, two in accidental shootings. One drowned trying to save migrants from the river. Because the troops are deployed under state orders, not federal ones, they fewer benefits,. And their families are not compensated as well in the event that they die.
