The Adventures of Augustus is a book written by Teddy's Aunt Izzy. She interviewed well she interrogates Teddy to get details of what a boy's life is and then she puts a lot of those details into the Adventures of Augustus. We see Augustus remaining an 11 year old boy and Teddy growing older and still disliking Augustus but he also imagines what Augustus would be like if he'd been allowed to grow up. There's a Peter Pan element here. He began innocently enough in Augustus's opinion anyway. It always begins innocently. Only the short-sighted don't consider the consequences. That will be written on your headstone dear.
