Detection of Extant Life on Mars
Viking mission one l r test and a series of increasingly decisive, varied controls more than satisfied nassa's pre mission requirements for the detection of extant life. Greenish patches on some rocks analyzed with the six channel viking imaging system completely matched that of terrestrial lichen. A sample taken from under a u v shielding rock was as l r active as surface samples. Methane has been measured in the martian atmosphere, both cyclically and locally. Ghost like moving lights resembling wool of the wisps on earth, that are formed by a spontaneous ignition of methane have been recorded on the martian surface.
