Putin said Ukraine has never been a real country, and there is this deep Russian historical connection to it. I think that's part of what he meant in both cases, right? It has this Russian part and so on and and isn't ethnically homogeneous either. But yeah, Putin has always wanted and tried to keep your brain closed, you know, to install his people in power.
