How You Changed the World

I think the central tragedy of the book as far as I'm concerned is the sense that here you have this very sort of defiant, courageous, curious human being and all of these traits are taken and they are warped into something very evil. To me that was the overarching arc of the book was how she changed it. Everything since then has just been incredibly surreal to move from 10 years of having to tell the truth to be in this situation where my work of fiction is taking me into these situations.
