She didn't have that entrenched thing that I think comes from playing a lot or coming up in a scene. She was approaching as a visual artist so she was just sort of inventing her style and also working within her means. Her singing voice is kind of informed by you know, like she lived off the kitchen in a shared room for a while or shared with her own. The start of her career is so baffling because it's so counter to what we would think of especially an artist of her stature how they would start.
