The Origins of Middle Eastern Music

When it comes to Eastern and Western music, I think that they had been different writing systems that started around different times. One of the most well-known systems when it comes to Middle Eastern music is the system started by Al-Farabi. The Ottomans kind of took control of the music rotation and writing notation, defining what classical music is in the region. It's only after colonization that the Middle East was introduced to the Western notation system that we know today.
