How to Edit a Vocal Part

I've had to learn some much more brutal vocal techniques doing a part that I've ever done in music production. So like mid vowel, I'll do the comp, but then I'll have to re-eq the second part of it because there were the proximity effects of the mic was different. It would crazily work and sometimes I'd find a fade hindered it and sometimes I find a cross-fade helped. But with the weirdest mid syllabic cuts that just felt like extremely unlikely.
