My grandfather was a ball turret gunner in B-24s and flu missions over Germany. The willingness to do what ever it took was simply amazing. You wonder, you hope that some of that spirit is left. They really wouldn't know for the word defeat. Meanwhile, after World War II, starting with Vietnam, the defeat seems to us a good thing. It's all slogans and death to the boys was vegan. And it makes you sound heroic. So, and it's kind of coming back. It's like a serpent. You can't completely kill it.
