The Potential of Parallelism in Indexing
PG dump allows you to benefit from multiple cores. It does J can work with when you have many tables only, if whole your database is a single table and others that other tables are empty,. PG dump cannot realize it. And you start dumping and see no benefits at all. So there is this huge potential, not as much as in indexing but definitely an opportunity for parallelism.
