The Strength of Writing in Open Source Projects
i think one thing that most open source projects need more than bog fixing, they need better documentation. Communication is key, whether it's through documentation of read me, or even between contributors. Every idea is valuable, but not every idea is compatible with the idea that you have about a project. Inasmuch as i idolize daniel stenberg, there's a space for creative tinkers and experimenters. It's not necessarily an obligation in the same way as many maintainers take on self-awareness of understanding what you're good at.
