The Rise and Fall of Marlon Brando

With the Sashin Little Feather incident, a lot of the PR goodwill Brando had accumulated with his two recent movies, went down the drain. The press found all kinds of ways to deplore what Brando had done and one story that proved to be uniquely sticky was that SashinLittle Feather was actually an actress, and not a real American Indian. That's bullshit. She was a total Indian. But that's the thing is people try to take it down. Like, he does something that's broad, and people just try and take it away, and try and demean it. It's a very interesting part of our cynical culture.
