In the New Testament, not just Hebrews, Jesus is thought to have been sent away by his Father. When he then does he return to the Father, it's that return in which he actually traces the very direction that a sacrifice traces. And this idea of Jesus being sent away, I think it's there in Hebrews 3-1. But even Paul can talk this way in Galatians 4. He was sent away by the Father to be born of a woman.
