The Power of Ownership in Multilingual Parenting

Danish is the dominant language in Denmark, but English and Spanish are minority languages. "Ownership of the language is something that especially as heritage learners, probably one of the most powerful things that young people can use for furthering their language," she says. Her husband speaks Danish to her children; they also have a babysitter who picks them up from school twice a week so he's on board with multilingual parenting.
