What Religion Did Neolithic People Follow?

We don't know what the religious beliefs were of neolithic people, but we do know that they changed overtime. In the early nearlithic the focus is particularly on building monuments for the dead, for the ancestors. And then towards the end, in scotland and ireland, you get this focus of monuments on the alignment with the sun. So presumably the sun had some major meaning, whether it was a deity or whether it was seen as just important itself. But all these things are kind of clues as to what thereligious beliefs were.
