Eric Liu: The Inflation Reduction Act is backing companies and initiatives in some of these difficult, but extremely necessary technologies. He says the soft power of the mere existence of a bill like this will have incalculable influence. Liu: We're talking making steel green; we're talking fuels like biofuels without the use of carbon from fossil fuels. Batteries are also getting a real boost to be able to build the grid of the future," he adds.

It’s been eight months since President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. And already the hundreds of billions of dollars it contains for clean energy and slowing climate change—alongside private venture capital investments—are funding a wide array of climate technology projects, from decarbonization infrastructure to rust-based battery storage.
