If Dr Doom had been Dr Sunshine he'd have been fired from his job for being so pessimistic - but that's not how it is with pessimists. The mockery would be much more gentle than the opposite number who predicted good things. We have no respect for people who are optimistic and wrong. I can hold passion gold until I retire in 1999. You'd be an idiot. But you know what? It wouldn't be gloomy if they were not profound intelligences.
