The number one rule of fried guides anybody that has learned through me how to work with burnout is that we never demonize a coping mechanism. Your coping mechanism is okay. It worked for a long time. Let's say thank you to it for keeping you safe for all those years. And then let's look at some other places where maybe it's not so necessary and we can move into another way of functioning. This is the unwinding self care. You absolutely must do this.
