The Black Breath and Mary
Three people lie next to each other who've all been affected by the black breath. Is this something that is within her choice? Or is it within the choice of anybody awoken by the king out of this state? And if it isn't a choice, is it a side effect of the black shadow? Is the despair that she might wake to the residual aftermath? Though we see, of course, Mary gets out of it without that residual aftermath. So I'm wondering how much of this is in her control, I wonder.
