The State of Public Opinion in Russia
The biggest mistake here is to assume that there is public opinion in russia. In order for public opinion to exist, you need to have some sort of public sfere and public discussion. This is something completely forbidden in russian. Even getting this information can be potentially considered as a treason. We don't have any public debate, and therefore we don’t have any public opinion. Still, we have surveys published by the on the remaining independent polster, the livarde centre, which suggests that upwards of 70 % of russians support the special military operation.
