All the labor went away to war and died and didn't come back. So you have this rise of synthetic fertility. You have shortages of labor, you have a lot of excess manufacturing capacity. The g i bill was one of those things that the government put in because we can't have all these guys just flooding back into the work for suddenly. We need some of em to get more educated so they re enter the work force slowlyh.
